EDIT: Its the P0741 CODE and NOT p0147
Alright guys n' gals - As topic states I have just completed my 5r55e swap with a donor and pulled one code after fluid fill. First, let me state what has been done so far and state of tranny.
- The transmission and torque converter was bone dry, only little bit of oil was left in the torque converter.
- Swapped in new gaskets and filter in the pan/vb.
- Flushed the cooler lines / radiator with ATF to remove old gunk etc, but left the clean ATF in the lines
- Filled with about 7 quarts so far and spec says 10 quarts.
- Driven 6 times afterwards, small trips of 1-2km
- Had it in 4th but no OD yet as I will wait with the highway.
The oil stick now reads about 1-1,5cm over the max limit, to my wonder. It should by now have pumped the oil around etc and we filled it in steps to check it leveling out. Now it has moved a bit down, but my thoughts are now that the oil has not reached the 150 fahrenheit which activates the solenoid allowing oil to pass through cooling lines, to my knowledge?
Now - my question is could this p0147 pass once I have taken it for a long drive and try to activate the OD ? There is NO slips, delays, bangs, reverse bangs, delay forward etc etc and it shifts VERY smoothly through gears. There is no torque converter lookup and RPM's go straight down after letting go on the gas or apply brake, so I am hoping this might pass as its refilled from complete dry state.
Could it in fact be the is slightly overfilled and I should try to tap out so oil after I have taken it for a long ride and oil level has not dropped?
Any help appreciated
