I am on my 3rd radiator since I swapped the 5.0 in my truck, it blew out some where the other day I have been using a 4.0 radiator from the same body style what are some other options that are bolt in. If I have another failure I think I'm done with this truck it will be dissected for the go fast parts on other vehicles I have.

Older picture but it hasn't changed to much besides the fan mounting

What's causing the failures?

Once was the plastic push through fan mounts ruined the veins from just driving. Another was the plastic on the radiator failed this time I dont know either a hole or another failure its asteady stream coming out from the bottom near the petcock I know it not open so I think it cracked most likely.

The push through fan mounts are not a good idea. I would just put a 2 speed Taurus fan on it.

Yeah, thats why I haven't used them in years. I just need a different radiator idea instead of 4.0 ranger. The fan I have works fine. The radiators have been blowing out at the bottom where the plastic is crimped to the aluminum.

I used a Explorer 4.0 from the early years for quite a while but the high temps of central Texas with the A/C running just overwhelmed it, Then I put a 5.0 Explorer radiator in and it solved most of those issues. The big problem is that it hangs below the frame rails and can't be mounted any higher unless that funky cross member is removed/replaced due to the lower hose fitting hitting the cross member. Volvo electric fan it stays cool. I did have a failure recently where the relay power output to the fan melted and corroded causing the fan to not run. Probably going to move up to a 40amp relay and see if that fixes it. The first pic is with the single core radiator and I've since upgraded to a double core. The skid plate on the front provides protection for the radiator.

Northern Radiator, on Ebay, has what you need. It's made for V8 swapped Rangers and tucks under the core support giving more clearance in the engine bay. All aluminum, no plastic.
