Hey everyone. Got a 99 ranger i'm swapping an explorer 5.0 into. I have a 97 m5r2 out of a v6 f150. I used a 95 f150 5.0 flywheel and clutch kit. Drilled the trans bellhousing bolt holes to 7/16" and put everything together and the clutch pedal is hard as rock. Obviously something is unhappy but I'm not sure what exactly, was I suppose to use the 97 v6 f150 clutch kit with the 95 f150 5.0 flywheel? I also used my 4.0's slave cylinder as it's only a year old and an OEM ford part. Part numbers showed it was the same as the 97 f150s and it bolted right up so i don't think there should be any problems there.

+1 ^^^

The Quick Connect fitting on the slave is not connected all the way

The hose end has a valve inside that prevents fluid from running out of the system when its disconnected, or there would be a big MESS, lol
So when its disconnected the clutch pedal can't be pushed down, no where for the fluid to go, hose is blocked

So reconnect it and make sure it goes on all the way, you will "feel" it lock and won't be able to pull it off
