4wd shift mechanism broke trying to engage

I'm trying to identify the part.. I'm new to rangers and 4wd, but would recognize the part if I saw it in a picture or drawing. Problem is, I can't find a drawing of my 4wd mechanism.
I have an 88 2.9 liter manual with 4wd.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Your post says it's a 1988, your signature says it's a 1998. And some (any) more information would be real good, haha.

If it has a 2.9 it has to be an 88.
