After swapping in the 5 speed M5R1, my speedo no longer works. All connections on the transfer case were made, so I don't see how that could be a problem. The column shift was left in the "Park" position before being removed for the swap. Would being in the "Park" position cause the speedo/odometer to not function?

That cant be the problem... The PRNDL switch (trans range sensor) was on the trans and that isnt there anymore.

The speedo gear connection is on the transfer case, correct? If its on the transmission though, maybe the transmission I swapped in has no gear on it or something. Funny thing is, I dont ever recall removing a cable with a gear attached to it at any point during the swap.

Shouldn't I have a speedo cable coming out of that hole?

No, 94 was the last year that used a speedo cable.

That speed sensor is what tells your speedo how fast youre going.

Good to know. Hmm, maybe I should check the wiring first.
