so i got passed along a 95 ranger im the second owner. the trans on it has been rebuilt twice the second time just a couple years ago on the second rebuild the obdII was replaced as well! since i have had the truck it has had a slip from 1 going into 2, 2-3 and it would have rpm fluxuation (100rs) in o/d. i was pulling out onto the street one day had to give it a lil gas a i felt a big klunk! since the o/d has not worked properly. at highway speeds it will just rev like its in third and wont shift and if i let off the gas the rpms just drop to an idle and it just revvs if i slowly put on the gas! so yesterday i replaced the MAF sensor and the in town driving is great! no slip going into 2nd and as far as i could tell none going from 2-3! awesome right?? well i get it on the freeway and im still having the same problem at those speeds!!

It cant be the tranny right? i mean it JUST got rebuilt 2 years ago! It should be electrical right? the o/d unit? I absolutly refuse to accept the fact its the tranny itself! that and i dont have the money to replace it!

Is the OD light flashing??

Could be solenoid or overdrive band broke which does happen.

ya know it just might be i have to replace the bulbs in my cluster cause there is alot of the lights that are out i just have not had the time to replace them
