Does anyone know if Ford used a front axels on a 1997 Ranger with hubs mounted like the ones used on a 1998 Ranger.
I have a 97 with hubs that look like the ones on a 98. . My worry is if someone swapped the front axels assembly with a 98, it won't work. I think in 98 they went to a reverse rotation on the input from the transfer case.
I am still in the process of building the truck , but this is a major concern of mine. I really hope I'm just being paranoid. But everything I've done on this truck has turned into a Charlie Foxtrot.

Pretty sure all the TTB axles are reverse rotation.

They aren’t reverse rotation, they are reverse spiral... it has to do with the way the gears are cut. Forward is still forward, backward is still backward.

Thank you , for clearing this up for me. Someone had removed both front axels before I got the truck delivered. Again , Thank you. I'm sure as I go on with this project there will be other things that I have questions about. I'm not new to this , but on these little rangers I don't have much experience. I do have a 1993 with a 4.0 whish is as ugly as sin and I really do like that truck. That's why I decided to take on this project.
Thanks
Dannny

I don't really understand the question here.

The 97 and 98 from axles aren't even remotely similar. That was the break between TTB and IFS. Basically the only parts that interchange are the lug nuts.
