4.0l sohc engine swap

what engine's will bolt up to a 2001 ranger 4x4 auto transmission? i would prefer a v8 if there is not more expense for trans. or maybe a 4.2 if the timing system is better than the sohc?

Be more specific, what engine do you have?? The 4.0L will not bolt to the 3.0L or the 2.3L/2.5L...A V8 swap will vary depending on your source of donor. I spent $700 for my donor explorer but got back $560 in scrap metal after I was done with the donor...I highly recommend the V8 route, not only will you have more power, but a much more reliable and longer lasting trans
