is it possible to convert a 4.0 to use a carbureter??

Just about anything is possible. Just gotta find the right parts and place.

Oh, and welcome to The Ranger Station. Don't mind the early replies, they get kicks from the smallest of things. :icon_pepsi::beer:

It really did say he was banned, I was curious.

in theory i guess you could do it, if you want to put the effort into it. a 2.8L intake might (BIG might) work, but putting a carb on a 4.0 is gonna cause all sorts of trouble with all sorts of everything. the PCM runs everything on that engine, fuel, spark, timing, everything, and it isn't gonna like not seeing injectors, and good luck getting the ignition to work without the PCM. Ignoring all of that I cannot for the life of me think of any location or application where another engine isn't a better choice, where that might be legal.

I you want a carb, go big (302+). Putting a carb on a 4.0 is an act of mechanical masturbation that will only end poorly.
