write ups i dont believe so, but its fairly easy. either you drop your trans or pull your motor, thats your choice. pull out the old one with a screwdriver, and tap in the new one. the seal is very similar to a axle seal.

Oil pan stays or does it have to be removed?

No need to remove the pan.
