All of a sudden this AM my 92 wont start, unless I spray it with Starting Fluid then it starts and runs fine,I let it idle for 15 minutes or so and dosnt miss a beat..So far I changed the fuel filter and spray cleaned the crank sensor still no go without Starting Fluid,,,thanks ahead

You may be losing fuel pressure when the truck sits for a while.

Try turning the key on and off a few times to let the fuel pump prime the system and see if it starts then.

Thanks Il check that next with the fuel pressure ,I just found during cranking I only have about 8.5 volts on tap at my battery, may be a bad battery or starter draw to much???,for now I have it on the charge will do some more testing and report back

Battery voltage could be the issue
After sitting for a few hours, NOT charging, and hooked up to vehicle, measure battery voltage:
12.8v+ is a new battery
12.5v is 3 to 4 year old battery
12.3v is 5 to 6 year old battery and time to look for a battery sale

12.2v or under is failing battery

If you can see voltage dropping slowly with volt meter hooked up, then battery has an internal short, so is self draining, common end to most older batteries.
It will hold enough of a charge after driving for quick restart, but if it sits for a few hours it will drain down to low for good start

Computer, fuel injectors, and coil pack all need above 9.5volts during cranking for good startup
Most starter motors will draw down about 2 to 2.5volts when cranking

Also test battery voltage after startup
14.5-14.9v is common after startup
After a few minutes of ReCharging voltage should drop to about 13.6volts, this maintains battery voltage without "cooking it", over 14volts long term will shorten the battery's life
Alternators voltage regulator does this voltage change, and they can fail at "full charge" which will cook the battery

Ron Thanks! good info , I put the battery on the charge and it still wouldn't fire up without the starter fluid ,So I got it running and ran the snot out of it around town for 20 minutes or so,I got back tried starting it and the starter just clicked like a dead battery so I 2 other batteries and got the same thing ,as of right now I think I may have a bum starter (I have all new cables btw),that was probably at first drawing to much to start and now quit all together..

starters are pricey at auto zone see them on ebay cheap,Iv been wanting to get this thru emissions this week and go forward with a v8 conversion, hoping the $32 dollar ebay one gets it done

Found the fix ,,I pulled the starter, could see right away the brass or bronze bushing in the nose cone was shot, the gear shaft was very loose flopping around in there since no one locally had one in stock I put my little lathe to good use and spin one out of steel being I didnt have brass or bronze, works like a champ started right up..
