351w efi + c6 swap????

I started a 351w efi and e40d swap a while back, and due to wiring issues the project has sat for far too long. The motor and tranny are mounted in the truck but the dreaded wiring I fear has gotten the better of me. To simplify things I have decided to go with a c6 tranny and a stand alone engine/ ecu. This brings me to a few new questions. Are the engine harnesses the same on another 5.8 full size truck that did not have the e4od as my donor did? My thought is that I find a donor with a none computer controlled tranny and basically using the ecu wiring from that truck, I could cut out what I need to be left with a stand alone engine/ecu. Any thoughts?

Not sure what stand alone your gonna use, but look at megaquirt, and using a universal wiring harness. The C6 won't need any harness, so you just have fuel, spark and some other sensors.

An E4OD is not difficult to wire up, Idk what you had difficulty with but going from an E4OD to a stone age C6 is working backwards..........
