Coworker of mine has a 2009 Ranger extended cab 4x4. Bone stock with some small 2xx/somethingR16 tires with a street tread. He wants to put a bigger, meatier tire on it and some nice rims.
I told him get some 15x7's and 31's and go to town. Another coworker says I'm crazy and they won't fit...
...now granted I sold my '96 in 2006 and haven't been around but as far as I know a 2009 Ranger is pretty damn similar to a '99 or any '98+ IFS 4x4 Ranger.
We put 265/75R16 muds (32x10.5R16) on my buddy's stock '99 Ranger 4x4. Worked great. No issues unless he absolutely beat on it and then it was just minor rubbing.
Meanwhile I know his truck came stock with the 245/75R16's which would be a 31x9.5R16.
Then there was the FX4/Level II with the 15x7 Alcoas and 31x10.5R15 BFG AT's.
Anything different on the brakes and suspension that would prevent 15's to fit?
Ride height any lower?
