ive got a beaten up 84 mustang that the last owner did i dont know what too. its got a 302. and i was looking at the casting numbers on the heads one is D80E and the other is E5AE. will these work together or was the last owner a dumbass for sticking them on the engine?

well im pretty sure the d80e is a truck head and the e5ae is a car head. dont hold me to it but im pretty sure that the differences will cause a inbalance in the engine that could cause catastrophic failure in the long run like spun bearings and such.

The D8OE is a 78 head, The other is a 85 head. Not sure about the specs on either one to know if they would work together. I would say the best thing to do is get a set of matching heads. my .02 though

They're prety much the same crappy heads with huge 70 cc combustion chambers. They make excellant door stops or mud anchors.

okay, i figured i should get a matching set. gonna just scrap the whole thing and start fresh.

There is no real difference in those two heads and will be fine run on the same engine.

thx for the info, found a 302 out of a 88 mustang gt for 200$ so im happier with that then i am with the first motor.
