Heres my truck-2003 3.0 Edge 2wd 114k

Everything Ive changed/serviced- New coil pack, plugs and wires, ignition switch, fuel filter,IAC valve,TPS,rear ABS Speed Sensor,Oil recently changed, and most recently Had Ford change the tranny Fluid (no flush), And when it started acting up I changed The Temp sensor thinking It was lying to my computer-it wasnt lol.

My problem-The truck fires up just fine idle is a little shaky but not terrible. When driven cold Ill try to accelerate and the engine bogs down when i hit 2k rpm it almost sounds like a miss but theres no codes. The engine has never died on me and the problem immediately goes away once the engine reaches operating temp.

It might feel a little low on power but im not sure. I have also noticed slightly more fuel consumption than normal. Only other thing ive noticed is a decompression coming the fuel rails-cant pinpoint the sound.

Just tell me what you guys think I cant afford to throw parts at it.

Have you tried to get a code? I'd check loose/cracked intake hose after MAF and PCV valve. My FSM also says disconnect MAF to see if it runs better.

Alright sorry I havent posted back in awhile, Heres what Ive found

Disconnecting The MAF while at Idle smooths it out completely.

Through Code P0113-IAC Valve thought this was more good news considering it just pointed me back at MAF unfortunately I was the reason it threw the code it went away on its own after a day (Did notice that the same time i Cranked it with no CEL There was a dip in the idle that wasnt there before just once or twice then back to normal. It probably doesnt mean anything but i thought it was worth noting). This truck has me baffled Can anyone point me in the right direction it really feels like a miss when cold and under power Ive double checked The Iac and TPS even though their both new and their fine double checked for vacuum leaks-nothing.

I would think if it was a miss or air/fuel ratio problem there would be a code thrown and if this tranny related The problem would remain despite engine temp. Im thinking it has good compression because it starts right up and idles well.

thanks for the help.

I have a '94 3.0 that does the exact same thing. It feels like you are towing a tractor trailer until the temp gauge starts to move, then it runs like a dream. I have tried every thing I can think of and cant figure it out. I was thinking it was just that she was getting tired, 234,000 miles. One starter, one alternator, and power steering pump is all that has been done to it.

Ok, got of work today did some more looking

Heres what I found,

Think I found the source of my decompression sound. One of my a/c lines is leaking down onto my number 3 cylinder plug wire, possible problem?

Also noticed my coolant overflow tank is 3/4 full even when cold, it wasnt like this before my problem-thermostat maybe? Went ahead and cleaned my MAF no difference noticed.

Still no codes any help is well welcome.

:icon_confused: You mean your air conditioning refrigerant is leaking onto the plug wire???

Are you loosing fluid or not? Do you have white thick smoke out the tailpipe on cold start up?

Went ahead and cleaned my MAF no difference.

May be more than cleaning is needed.

Truck not losing coolant or running hot just think its strange that before the problem coolant only just lined the bottom of the overflow tank and now its nearly full all the time

As for the a/c line it runs over my valve cover and into the cab its leaking down and dripping over the valve cover and down onto the number 3 wire.

Ill try and test the MAF if I dont find something conclusive soon its going to the mechanic to see whats up with it

I've never seen an A/C line run "over" a valve cover. Do you mean it's dripping water onto the #3?

Does this have anything to do with the original problem

No cone filters been there since I bought it six months ago probably much longer than that, anyways I let my motor cool after cleaning MAF, it drove like new. Since you mentioned the filter I might consider switching back to the factory unit. Ill see what the truck does tomorrow morning after its really cooled down hopefully this is solved thanks for the help.
