3.0 engine compatability

Forgive me if this has been asked before. My brother has a 99 ranger with the 3.0 flex fuel w/auto tranny. He just picked up a 3.0 flex engine and auto tranny from a 2002 ranger. Do any of you fine folks know if this is compatible? I believe it is a complete engine w/accessories and sensors and the ecm. He told me what all he got with it, but I'm going from memory which is not what it used to be. If there are any differences what would they be. Thanks.
