2nd Gen Nerf Bar

I saw a set of nerf bars / running boards on a 3rd gen at the 'yard recently, and I didn't take em because the mounting plate went between the frame and cab mounts in the front (which maybe meant a lot of work unbolting the cab) and I wasn't sure they would even fit a 2nd gen. They didn't have any aftermarket stamp on em and kinda looked like the F-series Ford factory / OEM units.
I believe ford called them "running boards" but have been unable to find the part number.

So I will ask, if they are factory would they work on 2nd gen?

I'm not even gonna ask about aftermarket cause some will some wont, that all depends on the brand I know

Gathering more info for myself when I go back to the yard:
aries p/n 203003 = 83-97
dee zee pn/ 31283QBFC = 83-11
westin p/n 25-0565 = 83-97

Although body style changed a lot between 2nd and 3rd gen's, I'm not sure how much the frame changed. It might be close enough that you just have to modify mounting points. If you get them and they don't work, maybe you can resell on marketplace.

That's what my plan was (or just return them - my junkyard gives ya 30 days to change your mind / find out if they work).... but it is cold, snow is starting (this weekend we get the makeup for you other guy's snowmageddon it looks like). And it wasn't the closest yard, which means a pretty fair drive, so was trying to hunt down an answer before I do.
