Wad up trs ...jst got my ranger...2005 ranger xlt v6 3.0 5spd....current mods are afe intake, taylor helix spacer, flowmaster 50 delta flow, asp underdrive pulley so far a solid truck....i want to do an upgrade to a limited slip diff idk were to start ...i checked the pack in the diff. And it. Says 3.73...and 7.5 ..what parts do i need and were can i get them what is a good upgrade for. It..do i need new gears like 4.10??? I do alot of. Highway driving ?? What gears and. Things do you. Pros. Suggest?? Need help

If you just want to upgrade to limited slip you don't need to change gears or anything. Go to Jegs or Motor Sport, one of the performance parts houses and get a limited slip carrier and clutch packs for a 7.5 Mustang (it's the same axle internally but the listing is easier to find for a Mustang) and then take it to a local shop and get it installed. You will have to have the gears setup again, but you don't have to change ratios or anything like that.

welcome to TRS...just say NO to 4'10s if you do a lot of highway driving (hurts gas mpg's).....you can trust the guy with the bruises on his face...(ring & pinion rolled out of the housing onto his face while he was laying under his truck making the SAME mods....)

7.5 into a 8.8

hey guys so someone told me that i should just get an 8.8 rear end do those come with a limited slip differential or do they also need to have one put on?????? also how would i go about doing the conversion does an 8.8 just bolt right on without any mods?????

If you can find a rear end from a 4x4 ranger, they come with a factory LSD and rear discs.

Wrong! L/S has always just been an option, maybe 30-40% 4x4's have it. Only the '10' (?) and the '11' Rangers have the disc brakes.
