2005 2.3 duratec, anybody ever perform valve lash adjustment?

Now has 262,000 miles on it. While changing the plugs and wires today I found oil in 3 of the plug holes. Since the valve cover needs to come off to replace the gaskets and seals, I should also check the valve clearances.
Anybody ever checked them and found enough wear to replace the lifters/cam followers?
