2005 2.3 automatic tranny Code, name?

I have a 2005 with 2.3, and automatic,,, what transmission is this? Was told "it is the 3 speed automatic",,, is that 3 speed with a 4th gear OD?
is it theA44E? Maintenance manual is worthless if you dont know what tranny it has.

Truck has 32K on it, I just bought it,
should I change the tranny fluid? When is interval to change the tranny fluid?
I can't seem to find the tranny number/type anywhere.

You have a 4r44e 4 speed transmission. I would change the fluid now, and do it every 30k miles. It uses Mercon V fluid.
