2004 instrument cluster into a 2001

will it work? cause i just picked up a 2004 instrument cluster and i was gonna try and hook it up into my '01,

does anyone know if it will work? or if they have a wireing diagram for the plugs in the back of the 2 instrument clusters?

no it wont work
the 01 and older have a mechanic odometer, 04+ have digital odometer

hope soo... lol and i bet i can figure a way to hook up that odometer my dads a electrician cause last time i dont remember seeing any cables for the OD just wires and plugs.. so hopfully it will fit if not, time to sell it lol

95+ rangers had electric speedo, theres no cable, but the odo is still mechanic
i bet they have the same connectors and the gauges coudl work fine on an older truck

I think it would work... the odometer doesn't have a cable to in and instead relies on an electric motor to spin the number thing and the digital one would probably just ahve a computer that does the same thing. they both rely on the speedometer to tell how fast its going so thats all it should need.

im going to try it either tomorrow or saturday.... i sold my 95 to my cousin and he just blew the pass. axle shaft on it.. so sat im gonna go down and fix it for him

if it works ill let yall know and if it doesnt have same connects ill take pics and post them here to show u how i made it work.. (wireing diagram for both years )

IT DONT WORK theres 3 wireing plugs for it and only 2 on the new one i wonder if i can figure it out though and splice wires together or somthing

why u wanted a 04 cluster? it has less gauges, looks to plain simple imo
