I recently purchased a 2001 sport trac and not running but very solid southern US body>>>>>>exactly what I was looking for 
same front end as 1998 up ranger IFS seems right.
my plans are to put a steering box in place of the rack ,out with the IFS and use a Dana 60 front I already have and a Dana 70 rear I already have. Engine duty will fall on a smallblock V8 probably in stock form and with a carb for now, and a 5spd manual trans. Mazda>ZF>NV4500> ? have all 3 right now. probably NP205 Tcase as I have never broken one in my years of offroading fullsize Fords . I think I have a couple early bronco Dana 20s that survived the fire even.
have time for the build, want to do it right and make it last!
*** looking for some ideas on front suspension designs and steering box mounting mainly. ****
I can work out the rest myself.
5.13 gears already have , Detroit locker and powerlock I already have.
anybody's tips on leaf/coil front experiences , pics ,etc. would be awesome, truck will be offroader but driven on road, minimal asphalt!
I have also thought of putting a 3.0 litre 5cyl Mercedes TD in it...............have 1 of those too.
