Hey guys, I have an '01 Mazda B3000 that I'm going to be doing a cooling system refresh on sometime soon. Right now I think it has green coolant in it, that's what the manual calls for but it's kinda of hard to tell because it's been awhile since it's been changed. I'm going to give it a good flush and since I already have some on hand I'm wondering if its ok to replace it with motorcraft gold (vc-7b) that was used in the '02+?

You can, but you will be stuck using that from now on unless you flush again. Zerex G05 is the same as the Motorcraft Gold. It's mainly used in diesel engines.

That's ok, as long as its not going to hurt the engine I can't see any reason to switch back to green. Zerex is the same as MC gold? I didn't know that. Thanks for the reply

Make sure to pull the block drains and flush out the heater core, too. And use distilled water.

I converted my 89 diesel from the green to the Zerex g05. The Zerex has anti-cavitation properties. It's what Mercedes uses in their diesels also.

Just make sure you get all the green out. If they mix they well gel up and you will never get it out.
