Looked thru the v8 swap tech could not find an answer.
2001 2wd coil spring ranger 3.0 truck
Donor v8 and engine mounts from a 97 mountaineer
These mounts will not line up the engine, it is crooked off to one side.
What have I done wrong and what mounts do I need to use.

Thanks

Looks good so far!

It is coming along as weather permits, both my garages are full so this one get to be done in the drive way ( YEA )
the best tip so far would be to trim beat bang or otherwise hammer the pinch weld area where the floor meets the fire wall.
I did not do this but it would have saved a good 1/2 hour on the trans install
that little flap of metal is just in the worst spot for installing the trans much less installing all of the trans bellhousing bolts and exhaust

You will need “1” motor mount from a 4.0 you can get at any local parts house for around $30 then Look on eBay and search ricksrangerz. He sells the motor plates for $55.99 shipped. Great guy with great products and prices. Here’s the link

found that out after the fact
I still think the engine and trans sit too high with this plate mount idea
but no time to reinvent the wheel on this one :icon_welder:

Did you remove the spacer under the left engine mount? Bit of a pain since the coil spring on that side has to come out.

Yes, removed it
Still think it sits too high
But it's fired up and running
Just need to finish exhaust and a few small things
The link from previous post has video of start up

Those plates work fine with the stock 3.0 Ranger mounts. I have over 166,000 V8 miles on mine.

Rick's ebay ads states "You can use 3.0 mounts with a little mod. Contact me if you'd like to know how. "

I have always wondered what is the mod? Especially now since you mention they bolt to your 3.0 mounts directly as is?

I made the 5.0 mounts work on my truck originally, but I just recently switched it over to Ricks new style plates w/ my original 4.0 mounts as I needed to lower the motor even more to stay under the hood and the 4.0 mounts are smaller than the 5.0.

Ricks new revision of the plates are awesome! and they fit great. (although my application is not typical with the frame being z'd and sectioned)
