Does anyone know what issues I'll have replacing a bad 2000 3.0L with a 2001 engine? The salvage yard gave me a 2001 engine (according to various decals on the engine) and didn't notice until I got it home. I'd like to use it if I can; It's only got 72k miles. Thanks in advance.

You can use it no problem...just use all your sensors and whatever else is different on the 2002 motor.

Any idea what sensors or such will be different? Unfortunately the truck I bought already had the intake manifold and valve covers removed, so I'm not sure exactly what is different. It's a flex-fuel if that matters.

Shouldn't be very much different. The only thing that comes to mind would be egr. If the 2000 had it, and the 01 doesn't, it will give you a CEL. If thats the case, you can either put the egr system on the new motor, or eliminate the egr from the computer completley with a tuner like an sct x-cal.
