I had a catastrophic bearing failure on the way home tonight. The bearings on the front left spindle failed which allowed the spindle to pull through and then bent into a pretzel. So I will have to get a replacement spindle for it tomorrow and was wondering if anyone knew which spindle I should look for? It's a 2000 Ford Ranger Trailhead Edition. They only made it the one year and it has the torsion beam suspension on a 2wd truck. It's a factory 3" lift. Does anyone know if it's the same spindle as the 2001-2005 Ranger Edge? Also, is there anything special I should know about changing out the spindle (knuckle) on this truck? Any/all help is greatly appreciated!

I had a coil sprung 2000 2wd 2.5 that I gave my son.
Its lower a-arm was the same as my 4wd 2000, brakes-same, a-arm even had the torsion bar hex. Only difference I could see was the unit bearing on the 4wd. I'm gonna guess any 2wd spindle/knuckle with the same bearing size as yours will work. I always take the old part with me to match it up or really good pictures on my phone.

You'll need a pickle fork and a beefy hammer
Cotter keys to pull
LBJ nut
TRE nut
Knuckle upper pinch bolt is 15mm, bolt has to be OUT to seperate.
Caliper bolts 15mm
Sway bar end link

?

Yeah, I always bring the part with me as well. I was planning on bringing a micrometer as well. I'm not excited about this. :annoyed:

Shouldn't be too bad, take a jack!
and your old bearings.
