2000 ranger sas help?

Hi guys, im interested in doing a straight axle swap in my 2000 ford ranger xlt stepside 4x4 with a dana 30 jeep axle. Ive already put a 3 inch body lift in it and am fabricating new bumpers. Now I want to get rid of the dumb torsion bar suspension and put 4 more inches under the frame. Does anybody know what to do with the main piece that the ifs arms are attached to? cut it off or just put the axle under it? Also, where can I get extended front and rear drive shafts? Any other need to knows? I have unlimited access to a machine shop, so I should be able to keep this project under $500.
