My 2000 Ranger 3.0 flex 5 speed manual Trans has started clicking only when the clutch is engaged. Does anyone know what could be causing this; I think the throw out bearing is too blamed. I am use too using the good OLD Chilton’s manual (wish they made REAL ones these days) can anyone direct me to a place where I can see a diagram of the parts for the clutch? How do I find out what transmission I have?

You have an M5OD-R1. Only manual trans ever used in a 3.0 Ranger.

Clutch assembly is pretty straight forward. Pilot, flywheel, friction, pressure plate, and throw out/slave assembly. Nothing too fancy or complex about it. Throw out bearing is probably the best bet.

I already told you. You have a narrow-range M5OD-R1 manual transmission. It is the ONLY manual transmission that Ford ever put in a 3.0 Ranger.

Thank You Very Much for you time and attention to my questions. Sorry I missed the part about what trans I had. Looks like I have a job to do:yahoo:
