2000 bodystyle V6 mustang rear

ok people I may have an opportunity to pickup a V6 mustang rear end, not sure if this will work for any upgrades but please give me info

i've researched it seems like its an 8,8 and it has disc brakes so what parts would I need, also if my current differential is a posi traction on my 7.5 would the gears swap over and such, i'm still learning the trucks and all this gearing and rearend stuff is driving me mad

im pretty sure the v-6 stang has a 28 spline 7.5.....same diff thats in your truck now.

if it is an 8.8, than no, nothing will swap between the 7.5 and 8.8.

Think that it is too wide and has coil spring suspension. Easiest and cheapest is to find a bolt in rear in from a 4.0 Ranger.

hes right, they only put 7.5's in v6 mustangs. 8.8 in gt's in that year... still do.

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to steal the disk brakes off a 7.5 in one of these assuming it has them and swap them onto a Ranger 7.5?
