2000, A pillar grab handles available?

my 2000 doesn't have the grab handles. were they an option? are there holes in the steel for the screws?
since the clips tend to break I don't want to pull the trim off just to see if the holes are there.

my 2005 has the handles, the trim is slightly different where they attach.

No the holes are not there, you have to drill them

Grab handles

I just pulled the headliner out of my '04 Edge which has handles on both sides. The brackets that the handles bolt to is riveted (4 each) to each pillar. I also pulled the trim form my '02 XLT which has one grab handle attached to the ceiling over the pass door. (I'm building one truck from 2) The '02 does have the holes where the rivets would go, the trim came of without much trouble..

I'd pop it off and see.

I really not sure why there's a handle on the drivers side of the Edge, maybe to help disabled people getting in and out, save stress on the steering column. I actually considered taking the roof mounted handle from the '02 and putting it in the '04, then there'd be three grab handles to choose from...
