Hello all, Im having some issues with my 2000 3.0 5spd ranger. The idle has been exceedingly rough recently. Another symptom I'm having is when I'm driving and depress the clutch to come to a stop the engine sounds like it is going to stall out. There is also a clicking noise that accompanies this. I always here the clicking noise while under normal operation but when this is happening the clicks are much shorter apart than usual. The best way I can describe this noise is a mechanical valve opening and closing (click.....clank). When I depress the clutch to stop the truck sounds like it will stall and the clicking noise happens about every 2-3 seconds. Im not quite sure what could be causing this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Look at egr leak or a vacuum leak some where those will make it idle rough and cause it to stall out on the freeways
