I have a 2000 3.0 with live axles up front and the module behind the radio. 4x4 system went dark a couple years back and I'm getting around to fixing it now. A buddy used his diagonstic tool to pick up code P1867, implying a contact plate issue with the tcase motor (although I've read this can mean other things). I recently replaced the tcase motor, the 4x4 cm (which didn't fix the 4x4 but did fix my tach, lol) and the switch.
I visually verified that the new tcase motor turns when the switch is set to 4HI and I can hear the motor turn the tcase spindle as well as the relay click, but I am getting no 4x4 lights on the dash at any point in this process (aside from engine startup) and the tcase motor moves back to to the 2WD position immediately.
It seems like most folks on here get at least some light activity when actuating the 4x4 switch. What have others typically found when pursuing the issue further from this point?
