Would it be bad for an engine, a 2.9 specifically, to run a gallon of gas mixed w/ 2 cycle oil at 50/1 ? What type of damage are we talking about here?

I've run some mixed gas through some of my cars. They were carbed, but I had no issues. If you're concerned, put it in and fill up the tank with just gas and you should fine.

short term it wont do nothing, might smoke a little more, but thats it. Long term(run all the time) will foul up plugs, and ad a bunch of carbon deposites to everything.

Hope it helps

sweetsride is correct. If you use mixed gas, use it in small quantities and mixed with a full tank of unmixed regular. The oil will burn through the engine just fine and will cause minimal problems in small quantities. It is MUCH better if you fill the tank with unmixed fuel when you put a small amount (less than 5 gal) of 50:1 mix in.

Yo,
Around here, to keep our premix from getting too old, we throw it in our cars (with at least 1/2 a tank of regular), and it does no harm.

done it, dumped 5 gallons mixed for my chainsaw in my Suburban to get to the gas station. it worked, but then again, my Suburban will burn any crap I can put in the tank........... tried diesel fuel once........... it ran, not well but it ran long enough to get to the gas station.
