Every time I disconnect the battery it runs rough for a couple of days. It's like it resets the computer and the computer has to relearn how to run right.
It also backfires and acts like its not gettig enough gas and too much air.
Once it warns up it does ok but still does the fluttering thing.

I don't know if the check engine light works. I'm pretty sure it doesn't. But if it did I'm sure it would come on.

I'm trying to avoid route because this issue will only last for a couple of days. I'm think iac valve, map sensor, tps sensor. It's just weird it only does the fluttering after I disconnect the battery.

clean the MAF, IAC, and change the map sensor. But really, id have it scanned, places like autozone will do it for free. That would tell you where to go with it, and is just good info.
But I think it is doing just like you say, the computer is relearning the parameters and compensating for some malfunction. My .02 worth.

I will try all of the above and take it to autozone for some reason I didn't think about autozone reading codes take it there in the am. Hopefully ill figure it out.

Autozone near me don't test anything older than 96. Sounds like something is messed up because when I unhook my battery it uses a little more fuel until it resets but otherwise runs fine. Find an auto electric place and have it put on a real diagnostic computer not a scan tool. It cost some money but can save way more by not replacing parts that work.
