I was reading the sticky about the lima engines and it says that:

"Early 2.0 and 2.3 heads have the same small round intake ports spaced evenly apart, they differ from each other in their valve sizes though."

I would have to guess that the 2.3's valves would be larger (even if it isn't by much) and it seems like this would be a decent way to get a little more performance out of the 2.0.

Anybody know if there are any differences that would make swapping heads not feasible? :dntknw:

You can swap on any 2.3 head. But, you'll need the mating intake manifold/carb. Your current exhaust manifold will bolt up.

Where on this spinning ball of dust are you? I might just have a deal for you.

I'm currently living in southern illinois, where the meth belt meets the rust belt meets the bible belt....what's the deal?

I've got a spare head ('80ish) (whole engine actually) with the mating intake manifold, 2-bbl. carb and original air cleaner. Not sure if the head has been ported or not, it's from an older project of mine so it probably is. It's been sitting in my heated shop for the past 6-7 years (or more). It'll need cleaned up but it shouldn't need anything major except for gaskets.

PM me if your interested. I'm about 400 (+/-) miles east of you.

before i make any decisions about changing anything major, i need to fix the timing. i am 99.9% sure it was put on wrong or it jumped a tooth. the goofball i bought it from said he thought it had been put on wrong and it sure as hell is driving like it was. i'm guessing if the engine has been with you for as long as it has, a few weeks won't matter. i'll let you know if im interested then. thanks

No worries, if it has a chance of going to a good home it can continue to sit in the corner. I'm cleaning house and it is on the list of things to go, sometime.
