When I worked at the boat dealership we used moth balls in boats being put into storage for the winter, it usually worked.

Moth balls would certainly funk up the interior... damn thing will forever smell of moth balls.

No… but not much better either. I tried moth balls and I tried bars of Irish Spring soap which mice are supposed to hate… think someone got that wrong because the mice around here literally ATE the bars of soap….

My brother heard the stinkiest drier sheets you can fing... and they made a nest out of them in his mustang.

I got these mouse away Packets for the camper. Smells like peppermint and so far no mice yet.

Farm supply stores have those scented bags and they do work for a time.. They stop working after about 3 months or so. If you don't have any cats or dogs around then poison bait from Rural King works well. I also have very good results using glue traps, but I leave them laid out flat.

I caught the little f'r in my V8 truck, but one of his buddies will be along shortly to set up shop in his absence..

The problem with poison is instead of smelling mouse pee you smell a dead mouse... and those have a much longer shelf life.

My grandparents used mothballs all the time out at their summer cabin. I'd rather smell those than @Dirtman's old chowdah.

The smell only lasts a couple days if you let it air out from time to time. Beats them chewing your wiring for weeks on end..

I think if you tried a poison with a different active ingredient, then you wouldn't have those same results.
