Anyone know what else needs to get done aside from the reverse indicator, and repointing the main harness and function harness? do I need to connect the grey/red, lt blue/ yellow on the auto trans harness connector?

i’m at a loss it runs but 4WDL won’t engage. I forgot to swap the wiring harness before swapping the engine and just want 4L back

Saw your post in the wanted section and it lead me to this one.

You put an engine from an auto transmission truck into a manual transmission truck? So what exactly did you do with your wiring?

What you said in that post is confusing and I would assume why you aren't getting any replies.

Yes auto engine into a manual. I repinned the harness and jumped wires for the ecm, and engine controls. spliced the plug in for the two wire connector on the transmission.

4l won’t engage. not sure WTF i did cause the truck fires up and goes into 4 H. unless i accidentally unplugged something in the dash when i fixed my dash cam.

honestly im looking for a shiftster at this point or im going to 3d print a selector out of nylon carbon. I only need 4wd when im out in the trails hunting .

or im going to pin out the motor and rig something in my dash. burned out in the gem module and relay BS .

So you used the engine harness from the auto truck?

To engage 4 on an auto trans, it has to be in neutral with the brake pressed. On a manual I think that the clutch switch take the place of the NSS and both the clutch pedal and brake pedal pressed.

If the wiring isn't right for the manual transmission, that may be causing your problem.

Gotcha, I swear when I first swapped the engine in , got it to start , and had it in neutral with the brake on it switched in. I'm not getting codes for the NSS/clutch switch. and the tail lights are working. The only thing I did after that was the dash cam into my head unit, I am under the assumption its the switch itself or relay at this point(tempted to swap them around and see if 4 HI comes on with the other relay. . new issues cam up elsewhere, spark knock and my clutch is toast , sick little heavy clutch tick, so I will be working on that soon.

The spark knock didnt start until I did a hot soak decarb, so I am going to decrease my timing on the tune I got, finish flushing the crud out, changing the O2 sensors, oil change, and probably have to redo the plugs again... (didnt think before to put the old ones back in). Just hoping the little bit of popcorn I did hear hasnt toased the engine.

I appreciate the input.
