I have replaced 5-6 timing belts during my lifetime and have ALWAYS been able to get all the pulley marks to line up perfectly until I attempted this task on my 1999 Ranger 2.5

When I opened it up; I noticed that all the marks on the crank; oil pump & camshaft DID NOT line up perfectly.
I should have taken a photo but I was not concerned at the time since I figured I would just "fix it" with the new belt.

After spending hours on this; the attached photos reflects the best that I could achieve.
The crank is perfectly aligned up; however both the oil pump & camshaft are off slightly but on the extreme ends of the marks as noted below:

Is this good enough or should I keep trying to achieve better results??

I'd put the crank bolt back in and rotate the engine over twice and see where the marks end up after that, if it's still not a full tooth off, I'd put it together and try to run it, it'll either work or not... it can't be half a tooth off.
