I HAVE A 98 RANGER 130,000 ORIGINAL MILES I CANT FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG WITH IT IVE PUT NEW COILS NEW CRANK SENCOR NEW CAM SENCOR NEW PLUGS NEW TIMING CHAIN AND GEARS IN IT. NEW PCM IN IT ( BC THE ENG LIGHT WOULD NOT STAY ON FOR LONGER THEN 2 SEC) NEW FUEL PUMP AND A NEW ENUSHER SWITCH. CLEANED ALL THE GROUNDS AND MADE SURE THEY WAS BACK ON RIGHT. IT WANTS TO START BUT WONT. I DO HAVE SPARK AND I AM GETTING FUEL UP TO THE ENG. I WENT BACK AND RECHECKED EVERYTHING AGAIN TO MAKE SURE IT WAS RIGHT. THE TRUCK IS IN TIME. PLZ HELP.:icon_surprised:

should have read what forum it was in lol sorry. could be a few thing. under a set voltage the computer wolnt let the engine run, a simple pinched wire. it almost sounds like the timing is alittle off. that's what happened to my diesel engine. made me feel like a idoit. 130k it shouldnt be anything mechanical.

1. double check timing
2. make sure all computer are getting sufficient power
3. check for pinched wires

It is in time that i do know. Everything is getting the right power. This is the truck from hell lol. I never seen anything like this.

my b2 is like that... always something... are you sure that the injectors are releasing fuel

yes. I guess i will do a compression test

thats about the only other thing possible. does it even spupper or just turn over

It try to start but never turns over.

Just food for thought, how long have those plugs been in there? Are they getting enough voltage? My CBR was always a pain. Plugs would foul quickly after cranking on it over and over without starting. New plugs and it would fire right up.

when you crank the engine over is it smooth or does it drag?

after you crank the engine over can you smell fuel in the tail pipe?

did you replace the timing chain. were the t9iming dots aligned together, not both on top or bottom.

if all this is true, rotate the distributor rotor 180 degrees....

please post back the results!

It is smooth. Yes i do smell fuel. Yes i did replace timing chain. The crank SENCOR is in the right spot. it is not out of time that i know. going to do thecompression test Sunday. I will keep you guys posted on everything bc I dont want to see anyone else have to deal with this.

Ok i did the dry and wet compression test. Everything is fine with the test. After i try to start the truck i pulled the dipstick and i do smell gas on it. Would this be the fuel injector? I would not think even if i had one or two bad injector thait it still would not start. :shok:

When you say that there is spark, what color is the spark? Yellow, white, bright & blue?
