Paw prints and huge round thing are magnets, thank god. Not too happy with the rust.. but my truck isn't exactly perfect either.

It has 147,000 miles, the auto transmission, and will need brake work either this year or next and a tune up. I'm yet to check it out completely, but I think I will be happy.

So, should I trade my Ranger for it? The blue book on the Integra is higher than my truck.

The only thing that really scares me about it is the paint.. it's pretty badly sun bleached.

it looks dirty why do you care about the blue book value unless your going to sell the acura after you buy it
acuras are good cars do you now whats been done to it do you have any records of it?

He refuses to send the VIN over the internet, so I'll have to wait until I go check it out to check on that. I'm going to pop into the dealership he has work done to it at and see if they will release the records to me. Plus, hopefully I can find someone willing to do a carfax for me. I guess this answers your question on my other thread as well.

Has the timing belt been changed? That's a pretty big expense and would be a deciding factor, depending on the price he's asking. Remember, these are interference engines unlike our Rangers, so you gotta change it before it breaks! They also need valve adjustments every now and then. I just spent over $700 on my Accord for a timing belt, water pump, and valve adjustment at my long-time family (aka well-trusted) mechanic's shop.

I have no clue, I am going to look into that along with the other common Integra issues like their CV boots and whatnot.

If the timing belt hasn't been changed and looks like it needs to, I am going to be quite apprehensive about trading my truck for it.

Just a warning, that Acura (according to www.KBB.com) is worth 700 - 800 more than your pick up (using 150,000 miles for both and "good" condition.) So be wary of somebody willing to trade like that in an even up trade. I have been burned more than once doing that. You got no idea what (if anything) is wrong with it. If I was you I would compression check it and code scan it. or take it to a shop to be checked out, and get the transmission checked out by a reputible transmission shop, the transmissions for those are expensive. Nobody and I mean nobody trades a $2500 Acura for an $1800 Ford Ranger unless there is something wrong with the Acura........

i nregards to the cv boots i did mine and it was easy we got the boot at the junk yard for 10 bucks as well

Acura is more towards the low end of KBB. It has quite a bit of rust and the trunk/roof/hood needs a respray. The interior is also quite worn down and the car needs brakes. I put it through and get 2100.

I mostly caught his attention with the fact that my truck has new brakes, calipers, drums, shocks, and springs along with an extra set of tires. KBB doesn't take that all into factor with the exception of the brakes.

I'm definitely going to get it checked out though.

Junkyard eh? I don't know if I'd find any integras at my junkyard. I'll have to check sometime. CV boots online are around 12-15 dollars so it's not that much of a difference, but then again online you have to pay shipping.

Good luck with that Hondas here are picked to sub-frames in less than a week here and some time even sub-frame get cut up and taken.
Have you checked floor boards older honda are bad for that other than that wheel wells aren't that bad to fix but i'd rater have a 5 speed.

yeah they get picked here pretty quick but a buddy of mine works there so he has a list of parts we need lol

Guy went behind my back the day I was supposed to look at it and traded it for a 1998 Explorer.

So if someone from the Binghamton area shows up on here with a 1998 Explorer, hes a douche. :icon_thumby:

its faith man, u cant leave the Ranger, its like a curse lol!! but a nice cool curse

Haha, I do love the Ranger.

I'll take this as a sign that I should hang onto it for a little longer. Once I get a job (had an interview today for the Sporting Goods section at Walmart, whoot.) I should be able to pay money on a loan for a car in my Fathers name. Doing that I think I could bump my range up to 3000 instead of whatever I'd get from then Ranger, then sell the Ranger and put the money down on the loan.

yeah things happen for good, hope u get your job, and be sure to purchase another Ranger!!!, or leave the Ranger as proyect and get a Tercel for DD :icon_thumby:
