1997 2.3L 5 Speed Inner Shift Boot

I am trying to buy the inner boot for the 5 speed transmission. I see a part number on the rubber boot which is 237?14. I can’t read the number I entered as the question mark. I have tried looking up the number many different ways but nothing shows up. I saw a thread where a member put in a Hurst short throw shifter and he had a picture of it in his post.

THIS ONE? That's the easiest one I've found to find, if that boot is shot the bushings under it are likely blown too

No, not that one. That one is shot and I am replacing it. This is the one I am looking for.

I tried to buy one new 2 years ago and eventually gave up. Might be junkyard/DIY.

As far as I can tell, that boot was considered part of the floor plate in older trucks. At some point, the boot and plate became separate parts, and it looks like the plate was finally discontinued more recently.

I believe the newest version of the boot by itself might be 6L5Z-7277-B/C, but the stock photo/line drawing makes it look like the shape changed, and I never actually bought one to check.

Thank you for the input. I bought one to see if I could use it and it isn’t usable. Size is all off. However, in the center of that plastic piece is a rubber(silicone) piece that can be removed leaving just the plastic surround. I am looking into using that. Nothing I have found is a direct replacement for the original.
