I just had a sorta major problem develop with my 4r55e in my '95 Ranger 4.0L 4x4. The truck does have 246,000 miles on it. I have had the front end rebuilt and the transfer case gone through and many other things fixed or replaced since I bought the truck last year. But anyway I was out playing in the snow today after the storm passed and my transmission started doing some funky stuff. I have had a od light flashing from time to time but no major issues. Today After about a 1/2 hour of wheeling the transmission started acted like it only has second and reverse. But when I drive down the road I can manually shift it up to third and it engages and drives fine. When I put the transmission down into first it clicks like it is trying to engage but won't. I think I broke it.
Any toughts about what might have happened. I must also state everything on this truck is original and has never been upgraded or rebuilt minus the fore mentioned items. Thank you all in advance for your suggestions and advice.
