I need to get some work done on my truck and have a couple of issues that I hope some more knowledgeable people have some info on.

First, I've knocked out the mirror from my passenger side rear view. I've noticed from googling that the mirrors on the Ford version seem different ... they adjust by moving the whole mirror and backing as one unit hinged on a small pivot on the interior side.

The mirror on mine adjusts interdependently of the backing. Here is the interesting part ... the housing seems to be fine but the mirror and the point that it mounts to are damaged. The piece the mirror mounts to is mounted to the rest of the housing via some screws.

TL:DR - Does anyone sell the separate mirror and mirror mount to go into a Mazda B series unpowered rear view mirror.

Second is much easier. My odometer and trip meter both stopped (same time). I wonder what the smart way to take care of it is.

1: replace the cluster (milage difference might be a PAIN to deal with)
2: pay to have it repaired by an instrument cluster website repair shop I found
3: try to replace the worm gear via a writeup I found which MIGHT be the problem.

Bonus question - How hard is spark plug replacement on the B2300 vs other inline 4s?

b series and rangers have the same manual mirrors. all you have to do is remove the door panel to expose the bolts that hold the mirror on.

as for the odometer situation, check the speedomter gear located near the rear of the transmission and see if its still functional. If not, replace the cluster, or take the easy way out and buy a gps.

The plugs on the drivers side are a bitch to get to

Speedo works ... Odo doesn't.

I know I can replace the whole mirror but was wondering if anyone sells the screw in insert.

I had the same problem with the odometer. Everything works except the odometer.

Taking the dash apart is a sinch! The hardest part was twisting the motor out of the little 'snap' clips. I was afraid I was going to break something. Finally got it out and found a half dozen little black pieces... The sheared worm gear. Unable to find a replacement cluster, I resulted in purchasing JUST the worm gear... for $25... pretty rediculous considering how small it is. It's somewhere in the mail right now, but I'll let you know if I end up having any problems with it. The gear ranges from $10 -$50 ($10 made me worry about its reliability or quality) on amazon or $150-$200 for the whole cluster...
