1994 Ranger 4.0L auto w/some issues

-- Info: I just bought this bone stock 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4 supercab with 108K miles on it from an older guy in his 60's, who owned it for 6 + years. It has the 4.0L v6 with an automatic transmission. I have never owned anything older than a 2003 and this is the oldest truck I've owned.

-- The problem: There is a hesitation when I press on the gas pedal. Kind of like it dies and then picks up. Kind of sketchy when making left hand turns on busy roads.

The longer I drive it, the more faith I have in it. The only sin is the hesitating gas pedal, I want a V8. : )

Mine does that to. i think its something to do with the injectors. I just started using the Lucas injector cleaner. I bought one of the small bottles then the large bottle. I used the small one first then keep refilling it from the big one. It has seemed to help me out. Its worth trying some of it. The other thing i thought was my spark plugs but have not checked them yet.

I changed the plugs n wires, busted up the honeycomb in the cats, O2 sensors, lucas fuel injector cleaner, and cleaned the throttle body. The solution I found out was that the MAF air sensor looked brand new when I looked at it but my buddy said to clean it. He said a spec of dust can throw it off...

So, I bought some MAF cleaner for $6.99 and cleaned it, unplugged the battery, and tried to start it. No go. It took about four attempts to start it after cleaning it but when it started, it started perfect and ran perfect. Burned both tires off the line just after starting, I'm good to go.
