My little brother has a 1997 ranger which was involved in a front end collision... It's pretty bad but motor still runs so we are going to try and salvage it rather than part it out. I found a 94 front clip locally for $200 and was wondering if it fits on a 97.

It'll work. Same body style, the only difference is the grille will be styled a little different.

Same front end. Go buy the clip and you'll be all set.

The grill varied from year to year but it will match up the same, it's just a cosmetic difference.

3rd gens ftw~! Good luck w/ the rebuild.

Thanks. I feel bad for him only had liability and was using the truck to go back and forth to school. No job to get a new truck and he's not mechanically agile. I will say for the rate of speed he was going (45 ish) and slamming into the back of a F150, it's not "that" bad. I haven't seen the truck since the day of the accident but I hear the radiator, fan, and power steering pump at trashed. Apparently the truck will run off the battery so after the front end and some misc items we should be okay. Will keep you posted.

That things looks like it took a nice hit

Yeah I took off just as they were putting the hood on. The impact actually bent the hood hinges.. so they were fighting that. I tell you what though. for hitting something at 45 MPH, it actually wasn't "that" bad. I suspect the frame may have gotten bent up and inward as we had some trouble with the doors.
