I am a new member, and have read the forum rules. I am traveling 3,000 miles to daytona, FL in two days, and i need to fix my tranny tonight! i put a complete "clutch kit" in the truck about two weeks ago.. over the past two days, it has suddenly started grinding almost every gear, and popping out of gear. the tranny is topped off with fluid, and the slave cylender is full. The truck drives perfect for the first 10 minutes, and the second it starts warming up it will barely shift. I read alot of other articles, but cannot find anything about a 4.0 4wd tranny swap for a 94 mazda b4000?

I am attempting to find a transmission within the next hour to start working on this, hoping i dont have cancel my vacation. Thank you for your time

Boy that sounds like its a syncro problem in the trans. Sorry to tell ya that. Hope you can find a trans. where are you located? I know there is another transmission post that a guy isn't in need of a 5spd that he has

im located in voluntown, CT, border of exeter RI. I have around $300, but plan on putting it in HOPEFULLY overnight or tomorrow by myself. i dumped all my savings into this damn vacation. Do you know what year trannys i can put in my truck? i believe i found a post for a 2wd 1993 b3000, and trannys from 88-99 worked, or something like that. Ive looked all around the net, and called local part stores, but nobody can seem to help me. I realize it would have to be out of a 4.0, 4wd. Thanks, Kyle.

well I believe you can use a 5 spd m5od out of a 2.9 ranger as well but just not a 3.0 they have the different bellhousings. Check car-part.com and search craigslist. I know around here for some reason right now there are a bunch of rangers up right now.

sorry for the stupid questions, but is a m5od what i have right now? or that would just also work. and is that generally all years, if i were to buy a parts truck with a 2.9/4.0 motor? Thanks

I'm pretty positive that what you have now is a m5od. You should be ok with a 5spd from those two in a two wheel drive obviously.

thanks for your help. found one on craigslist for 300 in RI.

If the Craigslist deal falls through let me know.
