1992 Ford Ranger 4.0 Automatic Transmission Shifting in and out of overdrive

Help !!

Hi all - I recently installed a Vacuum Modulator, Fluid, Filter and a new Pan Gasket in my 92 Ranger 4.0 w/ automatic trans. the problem I'm having is that it's like shifting in and out of overdrive but this only happens mostly in tne evening ride home from work, very rarly in the morning does this happen. It also is sometimes idols high at stops. I travel about 20 miles one way to and from work. any ideas?

Did the problem start after the work or was it an issue before?

I had the same thing happening with my 92 Ranger 4.0 auto 4x4 and the transmission eventually went out, about a week after I had it fully serviced.

Give it a good tune up and see if it don't behave after that.. Works lots of times.

All taken care of, the problem was a bad TPS. thank's for the help - wait a minute there was none.
