I just replaced the rings, resurfaced the head and valve seats because the truck overheated and blow the headgasket. I bought as is because of the headgasket problem.

I reassembled the engine and reinstalled in the truck. I've replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator and radiator cap.

After 5-10 minutes of running it around the block I noticed after turning it off in the driver way that the hose to the thermostat is very tight and hot and that the there is a lot of pressure on the radiator.

Any ideas? Do I need to flush the system? The heater seems to work and I get heat in the cab.

Thanks

You might check that you didn't put the thermostat in backwards. If not you might put in a pot of water on the stove with a candy thermometer and make sure it opens when it is supposed to.

Just an FYI, this website is more for the Ranger and Ranger based B series. B2300, B2500, B3000 and B4000. Some guys may know more about the real Mazda trucks so don't count us out but it isn't our bread and butter. :icon_thumby:
