how many power wires go to the + on the battery i only have one and i think there should be another but idk where it comes from

Only one on my 96. Any extra would be for aftermarket parts not running through the breaker panel such as car alarm, spot lights, winch, etc.

So you have no power at all? Did you make sure your ground is on and tight? In a stock setup you should have only the one power cable from your + and your - will have two the main that's grounded to the engine block and a smaller one leading to your body.

on my 91 explorer i believe its 2 wires that are on that actual positive terminal. not sure where the small one goes, never paid much attention to it

one positive goes to the starter lug, the other goes onto the fender mounted solenoid. the positive cable for the fuse box gets its power from the cable attached to the solenoid.
