Anybody know where to find some replacement plastic tinted windows that goes on a camper shell? Mine are starting to crack but they lasted about thirty five years.

if the manufacturer is still in business, i would get from them.

i have tried getting plastic replacement windows made from a local glass/plastic place but they won't sell them to you if you say you are putting them on a truck camper. this place said they don't want to be responsible if they break on the highway and fly off hitting something

I have been impressed with the boating repair community here around the gulf coast. Seems there isn't anything they can't do. Custom replacement windows should be an easy task. Have you thought about having them fab'ed out of glass?

Do you know who made the thing? Is it a Leer, ARE, etc., name brand? If so, the big guys always have the replacement parts, but hold your breath before you ask the price.

I know (unfortunately) a Leer Windoor for my F250 is $275 (I broke one), but it’s a mint truck.

I wouldn’t hesitate to replace one with a piece of plexiglass and then tint it, if I needed to. Right now, I have a really good spare ARE cap missing the back window. It was a $3500 cap like 25 years ago, and they still sell for 12 or 1500 bucks around here used. I’m going to use plexi and put a frame gridwork, or some expanded metal behind it for security, and sell it for more beer money.

I don’t know where you are, but around Atlanta you can pick up the little aluminum caps that fit the Rangers for $150-$250 in good shape. The fiberglass ones are maybe $100 more.

Afterthought, fill in your member profile so we can tell where you are, and pay the 10 or $15 member fee, and you’ll get more information/better response/without ads. It’s worth the money.

If you’re anywhere around Atlanta, I have two of those aluminum 6 footer caps that fit my 87 and my 97, and I’m probably getting rid of both of them. If that helps you out, I need to get them out of my yard.

i sometimes wish i lived near a large town so i could find toppers for cheap and not have to drive 2 hours minimum to hope the person doesn't sell it out from under me :(

i have given up on finding a stepside topper for a ranger or an s10/sonoma. i have moved on to hoping to find a topper for a regular bed ranger or tacoma (tacoma bed measurements for the older tacoma are very ery similar to the ranger).

i will just use a piece of metal on each side to make up the difference form the bed rails to the topper. and because of that, i am specifically trying to find an aluminum topper with a high top.

so far, those are as hard to find as a stepside ranger topper
